Valerie by Mark Ronson & Amy Winehouse most played song of the past decade

'Valerie' by Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse was the most played track on Dutch radio stations in the last decade. The record of the British producer and the singer who died in 2011 could be heard more than 13,000 times on public and commercial channels. The top three also consists of 'Rolling In The Deep' by Adèle and 'Somebody That I Used To Know' by Gotye. The highest score for a Dutch artist is 'No Mercy' by bin eighth position.

BLØF was the most played artist in the last ten years. The songs of the band were played more than eighty thousand times by the different stations. What is striking is that no track of the band can be found in the Airplay Top 100.

Also remarkable in the list of most played songs, is the fourth place for 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams. This huge hit by the American singer was only released in the summer of 2013, but almost reached the top 3. 'Valerie' was already released in December 2007, 'Rolling In The Deep' and 'Somebody That I Used To Know' in late 2010 and the summer of 2011 respectively.

A total of twenty-four Dutch songs are in the list of one hundred most played songs of the 10s. After Racoon, 'This Is What It Feels Like' by Armin van Buuren feat. Trevor Guthrie (12) and 'A Night Like This' by Caro Emerald on 13 the highest rated national hits of the past ten years.

There are also nine songs in the list that were big hits in the last century. 'Het Regent Zonnestralen' by popduo Acda en De Munnik from 1998 is the highest ranked in place 22. The list is closed by the only listing from the 80s: 'Summer of '69' by Bryan Adams.
